Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is the Romanian actor and TV host. Her most well-known work is the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. The only one child to Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra entered the world of show business early, and ended up performing lead roles in various TV dramas before she was sixteen. Her acclaimed and critically acclaimed performance in the TV film that was made to air Der Tunnel paved way for some other memorable roles such as that of the secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated movies featuring this diva. Alexandra has been involved in many notable projects, globally and nationally. They include the British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time as well as the French historical miniseries Napoleon as well as other miniseries. Also, she was on the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
